I’m all about quality, but I get sticker sock whenever I set foot into one of the big name grocery stores! I seriously feel like a little 85 year old lady who has no concept of inflation and thinks that eggs should still cost a quarter.
And that’s why I shop at Aldi! Bam!
I love nice things, I really do. I just don’t think you should have to take out a second mortgage for a grocery shopping trip. Aldi’s quality is JUST AS GOOD as the name brand. I will keep preaching this mantra until the last person on Earth has heard me.
Here’s a list of of some items that I ALWAYS buy at Aldi.
Wine. I love wine. I don’t always drink $2.89 wine, but when I do, it’s from Aldi. I love their Winking Owl wine (like the 2 Buck Chuck from Trader Joes…which is the same family as Aldi stores). I’m on a Winking Owl Shiraz kick lately. And when it gets hot out, I’ll be all about the Winking Owl Pinot Grigio.
Soda. Again, gotta have soda around when you’ve got a teen, and his friends. I’ve seen these boys down 4 cases of soda IN ONE NIGHT before. So I decided no brand names, ever again. Aldi soda is $2.29/twelve pack. Like half the price of the brand name.
Milk. It all comes from a cow. Why wouldn’t you buy the less expensive brand?? Milk is one item that has gone up ENORMOUSLY in price just in the last couple months. Have you noticed? At $3.60/gallon (for whole milk…what the little Pumpkin drinks), Aldi’s price is still better than the brand name. (But just a couple months ago it was $1.99!)
