An easy DIY project… Chicken wire art board.
Hiya, folks! It’s been a LOOONG time since I’ve posted. Too long. WAY too long. And I’ve missed ya’ll! πŸ™‚
We’ve had a nasty virus pass through our house. First me, then the little Pumpkin, then Junior, then even my parents got it since we’re together so much. The Peanut and my husband, however, are just plain bullet proof. I don’t know how they managed to stay healthy with us coughing all over them, but they did! THANK YOU SWEET BABY JESUS! The last thing I needed was two more sick babies.
Anyhoo…. Other than my two-month-lingering cough, we are all better now. Hooray!!
I’ve done a couple projects while I’ve been away, and I’ve just been itching to share them with you, because they are really, really, truly, totally cool!
Today I’m sharing with you one of my SWEET home office updates. It’s a bulletin board/art board that I made from a frame with chicken wire that I…GET THIS… found for free on the side of the road! πŸ™‚ Yes, that’s right! I found it, as-is on the side of the road! I hit those breaks and jumped out of my minivan faster than you can say, “dumpster dive!”
It was actually double the size, probably about 18 feet long, but one section of the frame was broken. So, I just had Dr. B get out the power tools and hack off one side. And that is literally all I did before hanging it on the wall! The white paint was already very weathered, which perfectly suits my style.
It is VERY heavy, though, so I had to secure it very well to the wall so it didn’t fall off and hit me in the head while I’m writing.
Then I bought some cute little mini clothes pins at Hancock Fabrics to use for fastening photos and things to the chicken wire. I added a few of my favorite photos, and it was complete!

I use this frame with chicken wire to display my favorite photos in my home office.

I absolutely love the finished product. This is totally my style- eclectic, vintage, farmhouse, shabby chic. πŸ™‚

What do you guys think? Can you believe I found this for free on the side of the road?!
