20 Healthy Resolutions for the New Year – 2017 Food, Wine and Poopy Diapers

20 New Year's Resolutions for a Healthy 2017 - FoodWineAndPoopyDiapers.com

HAPPY 2017!

I don’t normally make resolutions, because I don’t believe in waiting until January 1 to start doing positive things in my life and living the way I should be living anyway. But, this year is different. Because honestly, I’ve been abusing my body with the junk I’ve been putting into it, and I’ve been burning the candle at both ends, working hard, not practicing good self-care and mindfulness.

So, I’ve decided to use this new year as the perfect starting point to turn over a new leaf.

Here are my New Year’s resolutions for a healthy and happy 2017. Feel free to use/print them for yourself, too! We can all benefit from some healthy living.20 New Year's Resolutions for a Healthy 2017 - FoodWineAndPoopyDiapers.com 20 New Year’s Resolutions for a Healthy 2017 – FoodWineAndPoopyDiapers.com

Making a Living From Zazzle – My Side Hustle & Some Fresh Designs

Zazzle Stay at home mom
Zazzle Stay at home mom
Zazzle makes a great side hustle!

As you know, I’m a mom blogger (that goes without saying, right? since you are reading my blog). It’s an outlet for my creativity and my biggest and most long-running side hustle to date. And, you probably remember that I also write ebooks, and I upcycle furniture and antiques. Yet another side hustle I REALLY enjoy is Zazzle.

Zazzle is an online store where users create and sell their original designs, while the company handles all the printing and shipping. I love it because I can be as creative as I want (and stack benjamins), without having to store, package, or send any physical products to my customers. It’s free to open a designer account, and there are no monthly fees.

If you think it’s just another scheme that sounds too good to be true, think again. I’m living proof that you can make money through Zazzle. I’ve sold several items on the site so far in my brief time there, my best seller being a deck of personalized playing cards I designed. Here they are:

I’ve had my Zazzle designer account for only 6-8 months, and have pretty much forgotten about it until the past month. I made the mistake of throwing some designs up with the quick create option, and they weren’t that high quality. I’m in the process of cleaning up my mess now that I see I’m ACTUALLY making sales! My sales this week include someone buying 40 copies of a Christmas ornament I designed (for a winter wedding maybe? or a Christmas party?). I was floored by that sale! I also sold some New Year’s Eve paper party hats for someone getting ready to ring in the new year.
You can see my sales below. No, it’s not a million dollars, or even a thousand dollars (YET)! But, this is FREE MONEY, and I’ll never turn that down. It’s free to set up an account, and all the designs are images I made myself, so the only cost to me was my time. And, the profits below required nearly no effort at all. Once the initial work of inputting my designs is done, it’s residual income I make in my sleep. I am confident that with a little more effort on my part, within 3 months I will be elevated to “zPro” status at Zazzle, which means that I’ve made $100/month for the past 3 consecutive months. It’s amazing how motivating it is to start getting sales!

Make Money From Zazzle as a Side Hustle

If my tiny income report isn’t exciting enough, check out the story of Elke Clarke, a Zazzle designer who has made millions on the site, and was able to leave the corporate world behind her.

Additionally, all you have to do is take a gander at a few sellers’ stores on the Zazzle website to find tons of designers who have a little “zPro” icon behind their name. This means that they have made at least $100 per month for three consecutive months. Not too shabby for a side hustle, right?

It seems like everyone’s got a side hustle these days. What’s yours? Tell me about it in the comments below!

Save Money With Walmart Pickup – FoodWineAndPoopyDiapers.com

Have you heard about Walmart’s new online grocery shopping system and pickup service? Well, let me tell you about it!

As you know, I’m a DIE-HARD Aldi shopper. But, with 3 boys, 2 dogs, 1 husband, and a partridge in a pear tree all living under one roof, sometimes convenience wins out (in other words…it’s pretty much impossible to take my 3 & 4 year old grocery shopping anymore)! That’s why I’m pretty excited about all the new options out there for online grocery shopping, pickup, and delivery. My favorite of those services is WALMART!

Hello Monday. :-/ And The Weekend in Review

Monday - Food Wine and Poopy Diapers

Monday - Food Wine and Poopy Diapers

Oh, hello Monday. You’re back.

Did everybody have a great weekend and a fabulous Mother’s Day? I hope you were all loved and pampered!

I literally can barely form sentences as I write this, I’m that tired! It’s been a jam-packed weekend (and I’m still getting over a cold).

We have a “new to us but still quite old” pontoon boat this Summer, so with the lovely weather, our weekend was all about “testing the waters”…literally. We got our boat all set up at it’s new Summer location on the dock, and took it out a lot to get the hang of things. Plus fishing… LOTS OF FISHING! It was pretty glorious! But, the weekend FLEW BY. Lots of smiles and laughs and time with family and friends. Can you say, BLESSED?! 🙂

What was YOUR favorite part of Mother’s Day weekend? Share with me! 🙂

6 Reasons I Cut My Hair SHORT

6 Reasons To Cut Your Hair SHORT - Food Wine and Poopy Diapers

6 Reasons To Cut Your Hair SHORT - Food Wine and Poopy DiapersOver the past year, I’ve had a lot of hairstyles. Long blonde locks, a straight brunette ‘do, highlights, low lights, a LOB, a wedge, and most recently …the shortest of them all, A PIXIE!

Cutting my hair was a decision I made after an entire year of contemplation, and it’s not something I did on a whim. I waited until I was truly ready, had weighed all the pros and cons, consulted with my stylist, and knew what I was really getting myself into.

Here are 6 reasons why I took the plunge, and went for a cute crop.

1. Because I’ve been thinking about it for years, but couldn’t get brave. I finally decided, “WHY NOT? The timing was perfect. I stay home with kids, so if I hated it, I had plenty of time to grow it out without many people seeing me looking too terrible. But I knew I wouldn’t hate it. 🙂

2. Because I didn’t want anything holding me back and getting in my way. Chopping my locks was the ultimate freedom. Between kids, hobbies, and all my home-based businesses (my blogs, my upcylce business, my Zazzle store, and more) I am seriously BUSY, and could no longer afford the time to spend on my hair. It got in my way, both literally and figuratively. Cutting it has given me more time to spend on the things that are important to me.

3. Because my husband loves short hair. Not that everything I do is his way, or merely to please him! I definitely have a mind of my own, but I’m lucky that my husband doesn’t love long hair, and I didn’t have to face the possibility of him not liking it afterwards. I knew he’d like my hair either way, long or short, so it made me feel more comfortable with my decision.

4. Because short hair is cute, and can be really sexy! I feel like short hair comes with a sophisticated, trendy look, and LOADS of confidence. I was inspired by the chic short styles of the classic Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence, Kaley Cuoco, and Ginnifer Goodwin.

5. Because my medium length brown hair wasn’t doing anything for me. It didn’t look good, it wasn’t making a statement, it didn’t say anything about me at all. If it’s just “blah,” why keep it? Go big or go home!

And, because 5 reasons just isn’t enough…
6. Because I’m not 18 anymore. Or even 25. Or even 30. I am almost 40, and I’m comfortable in my own skin. I don’t need to hold myself up to anyone else’s standards of beauty, or to compare my short ‘do to anyone’s long flowing locks. I chopped my hair because it’s what worked for the life I live now, and it’s something I wanted to do, and I finally had the guts to just do it.  I’m so happy with the results, and I’ve never looked back! 🙂

Check out my before and after! 🙂

5 Reasons to Have a Meal Plan

5 Reasons to Have a Meal Plan - Food Wine & Poopy Diapers

I have some friends that I look up to. Not because of their beauty (which they have lots of), or their accomplishments (which they have tons of)… but for their amazing organizational skills! Seriously, they have their meals planned out for a month, they never have dirty laundry, and they clean their houses every night AFTER the kids go to bed (while I crash in the recliner in my PJ’s with a glass of wine and some chocolate).

In all seriousness, though, these are the ladies I aspire to be like, because being organized definitely feels good. Here are just a few reasons why it’s GOOD to have a meal plan!

5 Reasons to Have a Meal Plan - Food Wine & Poopy Diapers
5 Reasons to Have a Meal Plan – Food Wine & Poopy Diapers

It makes grocery shopping easier – When your meals are planned out in advance, everything about shopping is easier. You can easily make your shopping list, and plan for the week’s meals ahead. There’s no scrambling to the store at the last minute for things you may have forgotten, because you’ve got it all planned out, and YOU ROCK. 🙂

It cuts down on waste – When your meals for the entire week are planned out, you aren’t wasting money on junky convenience meals that end up in the trash. You can plan portion sizes, just enough for each family member, so that you have just enough to go around and you don’t have leftovers getting funky in your fridge.

It reduces stress – I don’t know about you, but when I have NO CLUE what I’m going to make for dinner, I tend to get a little bit stressed. Even though it doesn’t always happen that way, I am at my best and happiest when I’m organized and I have a plan that I stick to.

It’s fun & whimsicalI MEAN… how cute is this menu board?? Being able to do this is reason enough to plan your meals, am I right?!

It’s easier to eat healthy – When meals aren’t planned out, we get hungry. And when we get hungry, we get desperate. And when we get desperate, we eat fast food. Don’t eat fast food. Plan out those meals, friends! 🙂
